Orientation
Away from city's relentless traffic noise and pollution;
clinging on an eastern ridge of the valley, Nagarkot (2166 meters) offers
close up views of the majestic mountains and Himalayas without suffering blisters,
altitude sickness and aching muscles. This easily accessible, great getaway
was once a favorite mountain - retreat place for Royals and subsequently turning
into the most famous hill station in Nepal.
The
clear views over the eastern entrance to the Kathmandu Valley and the vital
ancient trade route with Tibet explain why Nagarkot was developed as a strategic
location. And there's a great array of mainly downhill hikes: to Sankhu, Changu
Narayan, Bhaktapur, or Nala and Banepa.

it more than we do now
The Fort at Nagarkot is a passionate and responsible

by preserving the integrity, stability and beauty of the biotic community.
