Effortless
at The Fort
With its Pro-Environment and Pro-Life orientation, The Fort has imbibed the
values of holistic living over the years: a fact that has earned it a well-deserved
reputation as the 'effortless zone' : A mountain-retreat center, where one
can help himself to access deeper level of rejuvenation. A space where one
could "let go" of the addiction of pulling and pushing. A gut feeling
of physical ease which then gets reflected in mind and emotions, a quality
of life
The
door of perception
The vantage point of The Fort commands closest and sweeping views of 300 kilometers
of Himalayas extending from the Annapurna in the west to the Everest in the
east. Five of the world's ten highest 8000m+ peaks (Everest, Cho Oyu, Sisa-Pangma,
Manaslu and Annapurna) are visible from here
distant, to be sure, but
still awe-inspiring, floating in the rosy light of dawn or sunset. The Fort
is in the state to assist and ensure you in identifying and knowing your Himalayas
more intimately and personally. And you will rarely find somewhere else the
expertise demanded to assist you in this

Rediscovering
the ancient approach
If you really want to feel the roots of Kathmandu, START the exploration well
beyond the city limits. During ancient days, when the Kathmandu Valley was
still an enormous lake, the first human settlement took place near shrines
and pilgrimage sites in the surrounding hills like Nagarkot. They remain today,
more ancient than Kathmandu Valley itself and retain within themselves the
keys to unlock the mysteries of the Valley.
Today, more and more visitors are rediscovering this ancient approach. They
prefer to recover from their Jet Lags in the serene environment of The Fort
and set out to explore the valley. And while you are asleep, your body instinctually
undergoes an acclimatization process, preparing you for your next adventure
in high altitude destinations.
Easy
and Quick access
Perched at an altitude of 2000m, 19 miles from Kathmandu, The Fort is just

is through arresting views of rural villages, terraced rice-fields and mountain
forests. (View maps >> )
